ImpactMarine’s Bluff facility in New Zealand will be a sustainable RAS facility, producing 10,000 tonnes of premium grade King Salmon per year. The team has secured all the key licences and permits, and completed engineering designs, with construction expected to commence in early-2024, and the first harvest in 2026.

NZ has a unique advantage for the land-based production of King salmon
Extensive know-how about the farming, processing & marketing of King salmon
International reputation as an exporter of premium seafood to over 80 countries
Well-established export systems with low or no tariff access to all major markets, especially in the growth markets of Asia

Why New Zealand?
NZ produces 60-80% of global King salmon
NZ currently only produces King salmon and holds a global reputation for high-quality seafood
Demand for NZ King salmon significantly outstrips supply
Increasing demand and limited supply is only expected to increase the supply-demand gap (and the price)
Canada and US are the only other suppliers of King salmon, largely from endangered wild stocks
Governments instated shutdowns across 60% of the North American King salmon fisheries in 2021 to protect the species
The species is considered endangered in many regions by the US Endangered Species Act
